Day 333ish. Reasons. (30/11/13)

From the start of this there's not been a single day that I've missed out writing a blog. I've written pieces whilst utterly paralytic, blogged from London both drunk and hungover, from the walk to the Ricoh stadium in Coventry after an epic drive to a Springsteen gig, from Tenerife, Greece, Paris.

Nothing has ever prevented me from filling in this blank page. Until today.

Long day at work. Major console launch. If you do what I do then these are the days that make the job pretty damn great; exhausting but fantastic.

The drive home was delayed. There were reports of an accident on the road to the retail park and the guy that was taking over from me for the late let shift was running late because of the wight of traffic. It's the sort of thing that you complain about the inconvenience of until the details start to emerge; a customer told us that a 12 year old girl had been knocked down on the crossing immediately outside the park. I have no idea how she is.

My own drive home was uneventful until I turned the corner at the Park Hotel about 100 yards from our house. There was a car sitting in the middle of the road, unoccupied and police were surrounding somebody on the pavement close to it. Given what had just happened in Speke I immediately feared the worst. I walked into the house to meet J who I hadn't seen all week. There was no greeting just a 'is Matty home?' 'No, why?' 'I need to ring him'

His phone went straight to voicemail. Twice. So we went out looking for him. Checked the park that he generally goes to with his mates. Not there. Drove round to one of his friends' roads then another, all the time ringing his mobile. And worrying.

I eventually found him on my second lap of Netherton. In the park opposite the first park that I'd looked in. With no battery left on his phone.

Relief obviously.

Quick shave and shower then took Tom out which had always been the intention. Was going to blog from the venue before the main act came on but started talking to friends instead.

And then, from half nine to half eleven, Tom and I watched one of the single most phenomenal gigs that I have ever seen. And I mean ever.

And I'll tell you about that tomorrow (or later today, as far as I'm concerned I haven't been to bed yet so I'm still on Friday until I decide otherwise so cut me some slack on this one) for now I'll say this;

Nothing was written yesterday/so far today because I devoted my time to family and friends and in a world that can become so random so suddenly, that is the best reason on Earth.
