Day 93. No comment. (3/4/19)
Honest to god, it's not my place to expound on what happened today.
A jury found that it could bring to account one man charged with a crime in the form of Graham Mackrell but could not make a decision on another, David Duckenfield. We can't comment on that.
That the Crown Prosecution Service intends to request a retrial is comfort of a sort, hope of a sort.
It also means that families that have endured thirty years of pain fighting for the memories of their loved ones have to endure further still.
It's impossible to comprehend what they're going through, what they've been through so far, what they feel about what is to come.
Margaret Aspinall has made the very salient point that whatever happened today, the families would be losers, they will always be losers.
Whatever happens from this point on, the one thing we know is that we will support the families, support the survivors.
Other than that, there's nothing any of us can say.
