22. 22nd January 2025. Wait till they hear this one...

 22nd January and the madness continues unabated. Trump, while pardoning 1500 people who'd been jailed for their part in the January 6 insurrection, names them as 'hostages' which they've never been. Then moves on to the subject of Gaza and what a fantastic location it is, lots of potential, could do great things there. 

Palestine has been flattened, the current POTUS sees this as a real estate opportunity. Great beach fronts, ocean views, wonderful sunsets. He says these things out loud. 

Meanwhile on this side of the pond - Prince Harry's just settled his lawsuit against Newsgroup, which annoyed me at first, if there's one person who could bring that shitty little rag down forever it'd be him, his family's definitely got the money to go for it.

But. It looks like the group's apology includes admission of unlawful activity, phone hacking, the works. Tom Watson has already made a speech asking for assurance from Mark Rowley that when they hand their dossier to the Met that action will finally be taken. 

We may finally be in the endgame.

We never got the justice we deserved for their part in instituting a decades long cover up, perhaps this'll be some kind of resolution. Not much but all we can get. 'May all the world forget you ever stood, and may all the world regret you did no good' (to quote JR Cash on San Quentin).

 Note to self: yesterday was about a single, it played at 45rpm, change the speed. Full on John Peel "this one plays at 33" moment there. Which didn't benefit Michael Stipe in any way at all. 20.1.22 They're only made of clay

This is the return to Ben Webster that I promised. (Yesterday/ A Couple of days ago?) This is me saying that I'll return to something that I was going to talk about and actually doing it. Treasure this moment, it's quite rare. I am, if you hadn't already noticed, easily distracted. Hence the endless asides. And asides within asides.  This is how writing tends to work. This is how *part of* writing tends to work. For me. Others will have their own rhythms and rituals, I can only talk about mine. It's all about the music. The music has to be right.
